The Pendley Family (Early Virginia)

Individuals in this file are the thus far identified descendents of Pendley and Penley families of Early Virginia. As a consistency measure I have attached the earliest identified ancestor on each line to a common “Pendley” ancestor for ease of indexing and comparing of information. No intention is made that 2 individuals born 100 years apart could be brothers. The intention is to move the link as soon as the real father can be identified. Sometimes with use of nicknames, middle names and initials, along with inconsistent data between data sources, it takes time to realize who an individual really is. The file maintains a standard spelling of the last name as Pendley as an aid in indexings and research. No intention is made that this is the correct or only correct spelling of the name. It is strictly to simplify further research. It is also recognized that this file is not complete and may contain items that are in error. I am attempting to place sources and what they say in the notes section of the GEDCOM file to aid further discussion and decisions to be made by other researchers. As additional information becomes available, please help us to capture it, document it and make it available to others.
